Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced that there are currently, maybe more by the time you read this, confirmed cases in South Africa. Local South Africans have begun transmitting the virus internally and have not traveled overseas.
“This means that there has been an increase of 31 new cases from yesterday’s announcement,” Mkhize said, “Today we have a further increase of six local transmission cases”
With 16 new cases, Gauteng is the hardest hit so far, with no cases in Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Free State or North-West.
So far out of 3,070 tests there have been 116 positive cases.
